Scan any email for scams.
Open a suspicious email in Gmail, Outlook, or any webmail. Click the Cautellus extension. Get an instant verdict — is it phishing, a scam, or legit?
Three steps. Zero forwarding.
Open the email
Open the suspicious email in your browser — Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, ProtonMail, or any webmail. Don't click any links in it.
Click the extension
Click the Cautellus icon in your Chrome toolbar, then hit “Scan This Page.” The extension reads the email subject, sender, and body text.
Get a verdict
Cautellus analyzes the email for phishing patterns, urgency tactics, brand impersonation, and suspicious links. You get a risk score and plain-English explanation in seconds.
What it catches
Phishing emails
Fake login pages from "PayPal", "Microsoft", "Chase", and other brands. The extension checks sender domains, embedded links, and urgency language.
CEO fraud / BEC
Business email compromise — someone pretending to be your boss asking for wire transfers, gift cards, or sensitive data.
Fake delivery notifications
"Your package couldn't be delivered" texts from fake USPS, FedEx, and UPS accounts with links to credential-harvesting pages.
Romance scam openers
Messages from strangers on email that escalate to money requests. The scanner detects love-bombing patterns and manipulation tactics.
Invoice & payment scams
Fake invoices, subscription renewals, and "unauthorized charge" alerts designed to trick you into calling a scam phone number.
Job offer scams
"You've been selected for a remote position paying $200/hr" — fake job offers that collect your SSN, bank info, or upfront fees.
IRS & government impersonation
Emails threatening arrest, tax liens, or account suspension from fake government agencies. The IRS never emails you.
Crypto & investment fraud
"Double your Bitcoin" and fake trading platform invitations. Pig butchering setups that start friendly and end with your savings.
Works with every email provider
The extension reads email content from the browser page — it doesn't connect to your email account or access your inbox. It works anywhere you can open an email in Chrome.
Your emails stay private
We never connect to your Gmail, Outlook, or any email account. We don't read your inbox. We don't see your contacts.
The extension only reads the email you're currently viewing — and only when you click “Scan.” It never runs in the background.
Email content is analyzed in real time and immediately discarded. We don't store, log, or share what you scan.
Questions
Do I need to forward the email somewhere?
No. The extension reads the email directly from your browser. No forwarding, no copy-paste, no uploading.
Does it work on mobile?
Chrome extensions only work on desktop Chrome. On mobile, you can copy the email text and paste it into the scanner at cautellus.com.
Can it scan attachments?
Currently it scans the email text, links, and sender info. Attachment scanning (PDFs, images) is on our roadmap.
What if the email is safe?
You'll see a green "Looks Safe" verdict with a low risk score. The scanner explains what it checked and why it passed.
Is the extension free?
You get one free scan to try it. Unlimited scanning requires a Plus subscription at $9.99/month.
Stop guessing. Start scanning.
The next phishing email is already in your inbox. Catch it before you click.
